The Mayo Clinic Center for Individualized Medicine website was recently updated to reflect Mayo Clinic’s continued focus on integrating precision medicine into the practice to improve patient care.
In the last decade, Mayo Clinic researchers, physicians, and staff in the Center have been collaborating closely in a comprehensive team science approach to push the boundaries of precision medicine in the areas of cancer, rare and undiagnosed diseases, pharmacogenomics, and predictive genomics.
The website showcases current studies and clinical trials related to individualized medicine and patients who have benefited from genomic medicine.
Highlights include an improved Patient Care section for a more intuitive user experience, a new and updated Clinical Studies section featuring enhanced visuals, and a new COVID-19 Response section on how individualized medicine helped improve testing and advance understanding of the spread and effects of the disease.
The Center launched its website in 2013 when precision medicine was a relatively new concept. As Mayo Clinic's role in precision medicine evolved, patient stories and research advances in personalized health care through genomics were shared on the website.
Visit the CIM website and the Individualized Medicine blog to learn more about the latest Mayo research in precision medicine and how it's influencing health care at Mayo Clinic and around the world.
